'Please talk to me like you would a real human' - Voice control
Voice
Human beings, aka: homo sapiens, are a verbal species. In fact, our civilization and subsequent global dominance is based solely on our ability to communicate with one another and although we have evolved our methodologies somewhat since the inception of our verbal abilities, our social, economic and cultural histories owe everything to our ability to speak and articulate languages amongst one another. Not surprisingly, when observing the importance of social co-ordination and collaboration in the evolution of our humankind, verbal language are the most obvious candidate to explain our accelerated societal growth and eventual dominance of the planet. However, when considering computers, which are in part responsible for many if not all of our technical advances over the last forty years, the input methodology has never evolved beyond the original qwerty keyboard, and later the mouse so the real question remains, what has advanced and more importantly, what is available to us now?.
